Back to familiar ground today. At 6.30am I peeked out the front door. The sun was shining but the temp was just above freezing. I headed out at 7.30am and made my way down the 1A. Today the road might be a bit nutty. It's a long weekend and there could be a few "bog-runners" returning from a couple of days driving their 4x4's into big mud puddles. The run to Ghost Station was uneventful but, on the way back, I met Runner John. At Red Deer John had clocked a 2hr 55min marathon and today he was on his bike trying to loosen up his legs. After lunch, I headed into Cochrane. I always look forward to my ice cream but I arrived at Mackay,s and was shocked. It was packed. Time to head home for a hot tub.

Avatar Marathon Martin has been running in la belle province, Quebec, on his virtual route across Canada. Yesterday, he entered Montreal and found a La Belle Province fast-food restaurant. He was hungry, so he had a double portion of poutine. This mouth-watering delicacy consists of french fries covered with cheese curds and smoothered in brown gravy.Yummy. After the meal he waddled over to the Olympic stadium and read the following, in a tourist pamphlet: "The Olympic Stadium (The Big O) is a multi-purpose stadium in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, built as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics. It subsequently became the home of Montreal's professional baseball and Canadian football teams. Since 2004, when the Montreal Expos relocated to Washington, D.C. The stadium has had no main tenant, and with a history of financial and structural problems, is largely seen as an "elephant blanc" (white elephant)".
