Today was a run in Calgary and, with the clear blue sky, it was going to be a hot one. I headed off to the Shouldice Pool and there I met Runner Ev who was going to join me on the marathon. There were no signs of the gaggle of geese, but there hundreds of signs that they had been there, what a mess. We hit Eau Claire Market at 9.45am and enjoyed our coffee and muffin. Ev said she knew a different route so we skirted around Old Fort Calgary and continued West along the Bow. This pathway system is amazing. There are literally hundreds of km's of pathways and it's a brilliant way to see the city. The day grew hotter but we made good time and arrived back at the pool at 2.45pm. Thanks Ev, way to go.

If it's Tuesday, it's Active Release Therapy (ART) time. Dr. Greg (AKA. Dr Pain) is in BC doing a multi-day mountain bike adventure race. But fortunately, Dr Pat, his replacement, is not as mean as he is. She worked my right shoulder which had been playing me up since I had my fall, two weeks ago. It's amazing how this technique can eliminate the knots in the muscles and remove the pain. As I was leaving, I was chatting with Nicky at the front desk. She mentioned that several people bring there dogs in for the ART sessions and it can also be used on horses. How you release a knot in a horses muscle must be pretty scary. You'd need a sledge hammer if you were trying it with an Elephant!.
