It was a winter wonderland as Sue and I left the house to go to the Boys and Girls club house in Cochrane. We arrived at 7.30am and Sue set up a table with some MQ 250 brochures and official bracelets. Organizer Amy arrived and she introduced me to a number of volunteers. I said that I would do a loop of the course to check out the conditions and away I went. The conditions were amazing. Big blobs of snow were hanging from the tree branches and drooping down to the ground. The ground was covered in snow and, even this early in the morning, was starting to melt. In the wooded areas the snow was coming off the trees. It was wet and heavy and I got nailed a few times.

At the start, Jillian, Emily and Emily (see below) were waiting for me and we headed off on the first 5km loop. The girls did great and we all all finished together. Then several of the Red Rock runners joined me and we did two loops together. The Youth for Youth fund raiser was scheduled to go until noon and by that time I had completed 5 loops. Amy had some shirts made up for the event and she handed them out to all the participants. Sue headed home and Runner Roy and myself made our way back to the house along the river pathway. To complete the marathon we ran out 7km on the 1A and then back. By the end of the day most of the snow was gone. Tomorrow I going to do some thing I haven't done since February 8th.
